Campaign Story
You all know a “Charlie”:
Charlie is a son, brother, nephew, friend.
Charlie is young (24), athletic, kind, funny.
Charlie is a firefighter.
This is my Charlie! He is my nephew and Charlie needs our help. Charlie was recently diagnosed with a serious heart problem and has undergone open heart surgery (June 1). He is currently on the long road to recovery. Charlie has been a seasonal firefighter (5 yrs) for the Forest Service and his issue (leaky valve) was discovered while taking his fire physical this year, “Thank God” for the physical. You can only imagine the expense of this surgery and the long recovery for Charlie.
Charlie is a very proud young man and with a great attitude. I can only ask if you could help with anything to ease the expense and financial burden for this young man, I know it would be greatly appreciated. Please keep Charlie in your thoughts and prayers as he moves through this adventure one-day-at-a time!

Update posted by Maggie McDonald at 09:53 pmHi All, Two week update on Charlie. I spoke with him this week and he had a very good report on his progress from both his surgeon and cardiologist. He is progressing nicely but will have to continue light activity for at least another month to ensure his breast bone

He has good days and bad days dealing with pain from the surgery and tiredness from the medication but everyday is better. He is walking daily and
