Chance of peaceful life

I am Mohammed, I was born and raised in Gaza City. One of the oldest cities of civilization, a repository of 5,000 years of Palestinian cultural history, it was (and will always be) my home and the place I loved so much in the world. Here, in Gaza, I wanted to take care of the family, and to convey to them something of the traditions of this place and my grandparents. Even in my youth, when Gaza was already full of refugees who were expelled from Israel in the 1948 war, there was hope in this place. We are a flexible people, and to make ourselves live a life of beauty and meaning, we needed nothing but clean water and freedom to walk from our homes to our schools and mosques without threatening Israeli bombs.

We do not have clean water. We have no freedom from Israeli bombs.

Just over ten years ago, the Israeli government, unhappy with our choice of the people of Gaza for an elected government, imposed a harsh and cruel siege on us. Although Israel claims that the purpose of the blockade is to prevent our access to weapons, the Israeli army actually prevents the entry of Gaza from eggs, toys and chocolates - a number of worldly goods that mean little to you but to us means to allow us the dignity of a simple life. The engineers of this siege are sabotaging our water supply and sewage systems, killing men, women and children who approach their border wall. How long before Israel decides our air is not breathable?

I am myself, Mohammed,, I have only one chance for a decent life. From the Rafah border, it may be possible for us to travel to Turkey, to stay there until the Israeli blockade of Gaza ends and we can return to live freely as Palestinians in our land. This is possible only through external financial support - in Gaza, there are no opportunities for us. I only need $ 3,500 to take myself and my family from slavery to freedom. Please donate.
