CHANCE Animal Rescue Charity Kickstart Fund

We are a small group of people who have been working hard to rescue and rehome dogs, and are now setting up a charity. We are currently going through the registration process with the UK Charity Commission and just getting started in an official capacity, and as such need some capital to get us set up with things like websites and emails and other services or materials which can't be volunteered or donated.

We believe in transparency. So with that said - we basically need to raise some money solely for helping us generate more and to better facilitate the running of the charity!

About us

CHANCE (Community for Helping Animals Needing Care across Europe) has come about because a few dedicated individuals (giving their time purely voluntarily!!!) have had a lot to do with rescuing and successfully rehoming animals (particularly dogs & cats) across Europe. One foster home that we hope to help support has helped rescue and rehome over 81 dogs and cats in the last couple of years, at least 31 of which have passed through their very doors as fosters, and 50 more have been helped with rescue costs and homing.

Much of the funding for this expensive work has come out of the pockets of a few very generous kind hearted souls, or from the pockets of the foster homes. Unfortunately, as with many endeavours, word gets around and we've now come to the point where the demand for help is greater than what we can possibly deal with. We do work with other charities, and although this is wonderful, sometimes animals are just dumped on doorsteps or found in terrible circumstances, and we can't just turn our backs on them or leave an injured or starving animal in a bin by the side of a motorway... and we can't step back and watch the same thing happen to other fosterers.

People are willing to fundraise for us, but it's difficult when you're not a registered charity. So we decided that we would 'go legit', it'll help us coordinate between foster homes, fundraise in the UK and abroad and generally be more helpful and effective. It's a big step to take, but we believe oh so passionately about it.

We can continue to make a difference. And we want to grow and work to really change things. But right now, we need to start small and get our foundations laid so we can be really effective.

Why we need this money

This fund will be going to help us get grounded, get the word out and help us really set things up so we can make a bigger, better more efficient and effective difference. This is the kind of fund that will help us do things like have a PO BOX in Spain for our foster homers to have things delivered to (potentially things like setting up accounts with wholesalers so we can bulk buy food or flea treatments rather than spending more money on petrol and retail foods), paying for the domain for a website (the design will all be volunteered of course) or for printing physical things like homing forms and contracts. It will go directly to services that we have to set up, or materials we can't beg or borrow.

Not a penny will be going to pay for admin or the time to manage the services - EVERY individual involved is currently a VOLUNTEER, giving their time, energy and expertise for FREE. We just need to give them the tools to be effective and really make a difference!
