Challenges for Sweden

I have the amazing chance to go to an international camp in Sweden in August 2017 with Staffordshire Scout County. This will be my first international camp and I can't wait to go!

I have to raise the money to pay for my trip and to do this have decided to set myself practical challenges over the next 12 months that will benefit other people or charities.

Challenge 1! To crochet 5 lap blankets for the local Elderly Care Home ... Linden Lodge. I want to brighten up some elderly people's day so have started work on producing these hand-crafted blankets. The challenge is that up until 1 month ago I couldn't crochet - and now, thanks to You Tube, I can! So far friends, family and Atherstone wool shop - Crafty Corner, have donated me wool to use and I've got promises of more. I have one blanket completed and another is well on its way. I'm trying to make each blanket different so I have to learn something new each time. I'm aiming to have these done by the end of the summer - so wish me luck.
