So here is the deal.  I don't ask for money for myself.  In fact I keep working harder to create more money because I believe in hard work.  In life there are no breaks, it keeps piling on and you have to keep the wheel going.  I am a mom, a wife, a sister and a friend.  My boys are great little people, and my husband is a man with ongoing health issues.  This is where our story begins. OUR STORY:  About 6 years ago my husband became severely ill.  At the time, we had no idea what it was, and it presented itself as a major depression.  I was just coming off maternity leave, and he left work abruptly.  Of course it was all my fault, and it was one crazy, confusing, extremely emotional and anxiety ridden time.  I had to take stress leave, but without money I had to return to work pronto.  My husband was a medical disaster, and of course it took an eternity for doctors to take anything seriously.  I was heavily blamed for what appeared to be just a broken relationship, but I knew the problem was much much deeper and that this man needed medical help.  So I worked full time during the week from home so as not to leave him alone, and then worked full time weekends overnight so he would be asleep while I had to be out of the house.  We sold our house to stay alive and afloat, and I went back to school online.  It was finally figured out that my husband suffered from celiac disease, and that he was so depleted of nutrients that he was a mess.  It took years to get this diagnosis and to start to see an improvement in him, but this is not the end.  We kept seeing his family dr. and discussing various symptoms which include high blood pressure and chest pains.  This took a long time to raise red flags, and it was eventually discovered that he also has Conn's syndrome.  This is a rare disorder that affects the amount of a certain hormone in the body.  Because it's over produced, it causes the body to react as though it is stressed even when it is at rest.  We are working to find a medication combination that will work to lower his blood pressure and block this hormone enough that he can start to function like a regular person.  Unfortunately, medication is the only way to combat this disorder.  There are very few people who have this disorder, and between this and the celiac (which is an auto immune disease) there are a multitude of symptoms.   WHAT IS THE MONEY FOR?:  Which brings us to what the money is for.  My husband has lock jaw and severe sleep apnea that require surgery.  The lock jaw could be in part due to celiac (I've done some research into celiac affecting the muscle strength in the body) or due to the Conn's, and the sleep apnea is not helping with his blood pressure.  My fear is that if we can't get the blood pressure under control, we will lose him.  Surgery itself is free.  What a bonus.  However, my employment does not have dental benefits to cover the thousands of dollars leading up to and after the surgery.  This is a year long process requiring braces, tooth removal and breaking the jaw to move it forward.  During this time he has been told he will be immobile for a few months.   I am only one person, and I've been trying to cover our expenses and family on my own.  I fundraise for all types of causes and am now asking for any help.  If you don't have it to give, then please don't.  But if you do, then it's much appreciated.  In the meantime, we will be moving in with my inlaws so that there is some support around us.  Know that any help will be paid forward in time. Thanks for reading my story.
