Together with my family, I am appealing to your good hearts to help us raise funds to cover the mounting medical bills of my father, Celestino. My siblings and I are currently financially unstable. Due to the pandemic, one of my brothers had recently lost his job. As for myself and my other brother, our salaries cannot cover the hospital bills alone while also providing for our family expenses. My family and I were already facing financial difficulties prior to my father’s hospitalization, which is why we are praying and hoping that you would help us by donating through this GoFundMe we’ve set up for my father.
WHAT HAPPENED: On September 19, 2020, Celestino, 74, was brought to the Emergency Room of Philippine General Hospital due to experiencing a heart attack. Upon arrival in PGH, his oxygen level was at 30% due to pneumonia (the first findings). He was immediately treated as a covid patient, hence we were prohibited to visit him. Hours later after, his results confirmed that he is positive for COVID-19. According to the nurses and the doctor that was updating us, he is recovering (his oxygen level went up to 81%. The normal level is 94%), however he is still in a critical state and has to be intubated to sustain his breathing.
ICU COSTS ARE GROWING: Currently my father is in intensive care. He is relying on machines to help him breathe and keep him alive. Because of this, the hospital bills are high and it is quickly adding up the longer stays in the ICU. We are hoping that my father will recover soon and be able to go home with us. My family and I are trying our best to pool our finances together to cover the costs of confinement.
HIS MEDICAL HISTORY: This year, my father had a check up and found out that he has an enlarged prostate. Prior to that my father is a diabetic with high blood and vertigo, and has had surgery done due to complications in his gallbladder.
PLEASE HELP US: For all the sacrifices that he has made for the family despite the circumstances at hand, the least we could do for him is to keep him alive and live with us longer.
Surely as of this moment he wants to keep on fighting for himself, for his loved ones; his children, grandchildren, and for his friends.
He is a great man. He has helped so many people. And surely he would continue to do so. But we need your help right now in order for him to live on. Any amount would be gratefully accepted as it would greatly contribute in covering for the hospital expenses.
