Campaign Story
Our dearest family and friends,
We are seeking funding for a family project -
Cayee's Aquaponics Greenhouse & New Kitchen.
This project will allow us to grow organic herbs and vegetables in the garden of our Kelana Jaya home, using a method known as aquaponics.
It includes a 900 sqft greenhouse and a 400 sqft new ktichen, to be built next to each other.
Project Goals
1. Grow and harvest organic vegetables and herbs as a subsitute for prescription medicine.
2. Grow and harvest approx. 1000 heads of vegetables plus other crops every month, for the consumption of family and relatives.
3. Develop a successful proof of concept for a commercial aquaponics system, through 6 types of aquaponics growing methods.

What is Aquaponics?
Aquaponics is the marriage of aquaculture (raising fish) and hydroponics (the soil-less growing of plants). It is an ecosystem whereby fish and plants rely on one another, providing a sustainable method of growing organic veggies, fruits, herbs and fishes.
Aquaponics Cycle Diagram
The fish waste provides an organic food source for the growing plants and the plants provide a natural filter for the water the fish live in. The third participants are the microbes (nitrifying bacteria). They do the job of converting the ammonia from the fish waste first into nitrites, then into nitrates that are food for the plants.
The benefits of Aquaponics:
1. Veggies are purely organic and pesticide free. (if chemicals used, fish will be harmed)
2. Use 90% less water compared to traditional soil farming. (water is cycled between fish and plants)
3. No soil used, land space is minimised.
4. A more natural system compared to hypronics. (No artifical minerals and nutriens given to plants)
Rewards
3 months of organic veggies
6 months of organic veggies
12 months of organic veggies
