ParkMYPets will be launching its first GIVING BACK community project for 2020 in celebration for Jen’s birthday for a cause initiative. The bigger purpose of our boarding service here is to support animal welfare initiatives such as animal rescue and controlling the stray population here in Malaysia.

MISSION ON 21 JANUARY

We strive to be a part of the solution to help control the cat stray population through the most humane way which is spay/neutering.

Our mission is to launch a small TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) project here in South Bangsar area on the 20 January, 2020. We are aiming for a minimum of 10 cats.

This would include transportation, surgery, vaccination, post-op recovery and continuous feeding and care for the stray cats.

TIMELINE

17-19 Jan Raise funding goal (RM 1700/ US 420), seek volunteers, fosters, donations

20 Jan Capture cats (have space/fosters for overnight fasting)

21 Jan Surgery & vaccinations at the vet

21 - 25 Jan Post-op care/foster care

26 Jan Release cats back to rescued locations

HOW CAN YOU HELP

1. DONATIONS

Our goal is to raise RM 1700 ($420 USD). Any donation amounts welcome.

For every minimum donation of RM 200 ($50), ParkMYPets will design a customised (1) pet graphic for you

For Cat spay RM 90 ($23)

For Cat Vaccination RM 40 ($10)

2. VOLUNTEERS

a. Transportation (Drivers) Pease confirm before 19 January

20 January - anytime after 12:00 pm during the day to help with transfer of cats to foster homes or holding space

** 21 January (morning between 8:30am - 10:30 am) and afternoon between (2:00pm - 4:30pm) from Bangsar South to Preventicare vet (15 minutes away)

b. Capture of cats

20 January if you are available anytime after 10 am, please let us know so we can coordinate.

c. Fosters (preferably in Bangsar area)

We are seeking fosters to help us foster captured cats in their crates in their home overnight of 20 January and for post-op care 21 Jan - 25 Jan before they get released again.

d. Supply donations or loans

We need donations dry/wet food

Borrow or donations of crates, trolleys, food bowls, towels

e. General support

Helping coordinate and gather food donations, supplies, sharing and promoting

JEN'S BIRTHDAY FOR A CAUSE!

I have chosen this project as my birthday celebration this year. I have co-founded non-profit organisations in the Philippines that focuses on pet population control and animal welfare, so it’s always been my heart’s desire to bring this Vision to Malaysia. I am very grateful for the support of the ParkMYPets community and Alda in helping me bring this project to life.

My morning walks around Bangsar South has been one of the favorite things being in Malaysia. However, it always comes as a heartache to see all the strays around.

Some look healthy, yet some look like Lucky (a cat we rescued in October 2019)

As much as we all want to, it’s not easy to rescue and get all the stray cats adopted. This is why spaying stray cats is very important. It helps in the long-term and their overall well-being on the streets. Here's a link about the importance of spaying and neutering
