Catalina 4 years old and Matthew 2 years old were abducted from their home in the city of Chapala, in the state of Jalisco, Mexico on Saturday, August, 4, 2018.

We are establishing this fundraiser campaign on behalf of and in support for my brother-in-law whose 4-year-old daughter (Catalina Moini) and 2-year-old son (Matthew Moini) were abducted from their home in the city of Chapala, in the state of Jalisco, Mexico on Saturday, August 4, 2018.

My brother-in-law is a Canadian citizen. His abducted children are dual citizens: Mexican citizen by birth on the Mexican territory and Canadian citizen by descent through their father.

He has reported the abduction of his minor children to the Case Management Division of Global Affairs Canada to seek emergency consular assistance. A case ID has been created: 18-GJARA-4634402. Unfortunately, the Embassy of Canada in Mexico has not been able to offer much of practical assistance to date.

Through Mexican lawyers, he has also reported the crime (denuncia) to the Mexican law enforcement authorities (fiscalia general del estado de Jalisco) Case ID No.: D-V/4073/2018 & Oficio No.: 1941/2018.

He has spent thousands of dollars to date on lawyer's fees to pursue the abduction case through legal channels and the Mexican justice system. He is now running out of cash in his desperate search for his innocent children.

We ask for support for these two beautiful children in this extremely unfortunate and difficult time. We ask the community to donate if they can and please share this fundraiser. All proceeds will be going towards covering lawyer´s and private detective´s fees, travel and accommodation expenses, search and rescue expenses, other expense related to the readjustment of children upon their return home.
