Cat in need of surgery and treatment

My friend's cat Orange, is 16 years old and has been with her since he was 3 years old (adopted stray cat), recently he has been losing weight and he stopped eating...when her family brought him to the vet, they found that he has stomach cancer and a surgery needs to be done to remove the tumor. Although he is really old and there is a definite risk doing the surgery, the vet gave an okay after going through blood test. The vet says that after the surgery and treatment he will be able to live a normal life again, so my friend decided to give the boy a chance to live, as they as well cannot bear to lose him. My friend comes from a really low income family and veterinary cost are really expensive it is starting to take a toll on her and her family. The procrdure and months of post op & recovery treatment will take about 10k, we as her friends try to help her but we ourselves are still students and does not earn much and our abilities are limited and asking their other relatives for help has come to a dead end as they find it redundant to save their cat ("it is just a cat, just put him to sleep", they say) but this boy means so much to them. If they are unable to find any money for the surgery, they will really have to put the cat down, which nobody wants to happen. The family has been able to raise about $4000SGD but it is still far from what they need. So I've decides to help my friend by making a fund raiser for her hoping some kind soul will take pity on them. It breaks our heart to see our usual joy of the group become so depressed and sad, and we as well love orange and has spent ample amout of time with this precious.
