Caspar’s Star

THE HALF MARATHON

I have just finished my last big run (11 miles) before the TUI Palma Half Marathon next Sunday the 19th of October. I set myself the challenge of training for this 6 weeks ago taking advantage of the opportunity of having Jako at home. Originally I was just running this as a personal goal, however, not long after I began training an awful tradgedy happened to some friends on the Island.

CASPAR'S STAR

They moved to Mallorca, settled here and worked extremely hard to start their own business, just as it opened, they lost their beautiful 2 year old son Caspar in a terrible accident. Whilst dealing with their overwhelming grief and comforting their other 2 children they closed their business briefly but they have had to reopen very quickly due to mounting bills and overheads. 

In memory of Caspar the family are starting a small charity called 'Caspar's Star' to help other families that loose a child. In their words "To find meaning amongst the madness is the only way to survive. Creating this charity gives meaning to us in the best possible way, to help others enduring this hell"

I am now running the Half Marathon in honour of Caspar and his memory and would like to ask for donations towards his charity. Any amount you can spare to help is so gratefully received - often help with the ordinary everyday things (such as bills and food and where needed counselling) gives families much needed time to help them grieve without additional worry and stress.  Thank You xxx
