I recently got accepted into a medical internship program in Chiang Mai, Thailand through Experiential Learning International. I am so excited to be leaving for Thailand and to start my two week program on January 2nd (apparently this is one of the best times to go because of the beautiful weather). During my stay in Thailand I will be shadowing and assisting doctors in the McCormick Hospital on weekdays 8-4. I signed up to participate in one or more of the four areas, family medicine, neonatal, physical therapy, and cardiology. I have so much I can gain from this trip not only clinically, because I want to have a career in healthcare when I’m older, but I will get the chance to experience a whole other perspective of the world we live in. The trip itself costs $1250 dollars to pay for my living, some meals, transportation and the program itself, while the plane tickets are going to be around $1300 because I am flying basically to the other side of the world. I am extremely grateful for any donations towards this trip because any little bit can go a long way. If you want to learn more about the program I am here is a link to look at : http://www.eliabroad.org/index.php/destinations/asia/thailand. Thank you all for your help and I will definitely be sharing my experience when I get back!
