Casey’s EDventure: Thailand

     Hi my name is Casey Dworaczyk and I have recently been accepted to participate overseas in a volunteer and leadership program with EDventure. As some of you may know, I am a double major in Anthropology and International Relations so this is an amazing opportunity for me. EDventure is a volunteer organization which offers participants leadership and personal development certification, whilst engaging in meaningful volunteer projects in the developing world I will be travelling with EDventure as a volunteer assisting in a humanitarian/conservation project in Thailand. During my program, I will spend 3 weeks engaging in leadership development workshops with other volunteers, while applying these skills directly to efforts in wildlife sanctuaries and rural schools in Thailand. This page is a way for people to help donate towards my trip in anyway they can.

      I will be directly involved in creating positive change and providing direct support within Thailand. While working in classrooms/conservation efforts, I will teach groups of children reading and writing skills, art, and organize sports and group activities. I will also help care for wildlife such as monkeys and elephants and learn firsthand about environmental issues that affect us on a global scale.

     While assisting in Thailand, I will have direct contact with community members and community leaders, while also engaging in local cultural activities. This will help me to expand my international network, to understand the local communities and to build bridges with another culture that will further develop my global leadership skills.

     This experience will no doubt push me beyond my comfort zone and allow me to fully experience learning in a new and unique format. Additionally, this experience will provide me the skills I need to enhance my resume/CV and prepare me to be an asset in the professional world as I pursue a career in the International field.

     Any donations would be greatly appreciated! The overall cost for the 3 week program is $3,800 (exluding flights). This includes my accommodation, meals, project resources, transportation with Thailand, and financial support for the community in which I will be volunteering. Even a minimal donation will help me toward this incredible opportunity!
