Cartenuto family Hurricane Michael recovery

My name is Danielle Barnhart, and I live in Wallingford, CT. I set up this campaign on behalf of my father and step mom, who have been residents of Panama City, Florida for over 30 years.

On October 10th, Hurricane Michael hit the Panhandle of Florida with no mercy. Our father and step mother, Carmen and Carolyn Cartenuto, were spared their lives, praise God. Their home, which housed their business and livelihood, Designs by Carmen, has been very badly damaged.

They have no power, they lost part of their roof, 2 ceilings inside collapsed, there is ankle deep water, the business entrance is crushed along with the vehicle that was parked by the door. There are dozens of trees throughout the yard that need to be removed. My father and step mother are 2 of the hardest working people you will ever meet. They have worked tirelessly to build their floral business and reputation in Panama City, and would give you the shirt off their backs if you needed it. There will be no income for the forseeable future. The most heartbreaking detail of the situation they are faced with is that they did not carry homeowners insurance on their home. It is tragic and so unfortunate.

If you feel led to make a donation to help them begin the process of cleanup and repair, we would be forever grateful. Funds will be used for clean up and restoration of their home as quickly as possible so they can resume work.
