Carmel’s Road to Open Heart Surgery

Hello! I am Carmel, 26 years old currently residing in Cebu City, Philippines. I'm just a stay at home mom of 2 kids. I was recently hospitalized (January of this year 2019) due to Dengue Fever and Incidentally was diagnosed with Rheumatic Heart Disease, Moderate borderline to Severe Mitral Stenosis with Mitral Regurgitation and GERD (Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease) as well. I have been in and out of the hospital post diagnosis because of palpitations, dizziness, respiratory tract infection and all other symptoms of Reflux Disease. I have also been to several Doctors for second, third, fourth even fifth opinion, I have undergone many tests but the diagnosis remains the same, that I have this Heart Disease that could eventually worsen since my condition is already borderline to Severe and there are no medications to reverse it, except for Heart Valve Repair which is performed through Open Heart Surgery.
