Caring for Gudu and his family

I met Gudu in Kathmandu on my first trip to Nepal 8 years ago. I was travelling there to hike in the Annapurnas and I had organise a guide for my 3 weeks stay. A few weeks before my travel, I found out that I was expecting my first child so I decided to take it a bit more easy and visit this beautiful country instead. Gudu was guiding me through my beautiful journey in Nepal and we grow a beautiful friendship. We have been friends since and we kept in touch through the years.

About 2 years ago, Gudu was the victim of a hit-and-run. Sadly, road traffic accident is an everyday affair in Nepal. He was left with severe injuries and had to go through some extreme surgery. His recovery took a year. Gudu is the financial pillar of his family ( his wife Rabina, his 4 years old son Imon and his mother ) so they had to sell everything that they own to pay for Gudu's hospital bills and to survive without income. Once Gudu was able to start working again, the pandemic of Covid-19 hit Nepal and his population very hard.

With no tourist at all for over a year now, it has been very difficult for Gudu to be able to work and provide for his family. With no earnings at all, my friend is in an extreme financial situation like million of Nepalis family and is currently living under poverty line. Food is not on the table everyday and the consequences could be dramatic for him and his family. Just to be able to have clean drinking water and rice, he had to take a loan.

I am raising money to help Gudu, Rabina and Imon to have a temporary financial assistance and to help them survive through this very difficult time.
