ABOUT COOKIE

Cookie is an adorable dachshund beagle mix that was rescued from an unloving home. She has kind “Cookie eyes” and loves to cuddle!

ABOUT COOKIE’S CONDITION

After a series of several expensive tests and continued hospital stays, Cookie’s MRI revealed that she has a pituitary tumor which is pressing against her brain and is causing her to have severe seizures, weight loss and fatigue. The tumor is 2cm long and 1.4cm wide, which is huge if you consider the size of a small dog’s head! We were told that she has had the tumor for several years with no obvious symptoms but it has finally reached a size that is detrimental to her life.

We also have another dog named Elijah who was diagnosed with congestive heart failure last year. We have been able to provide him with care through regular cardiologist visits, a medically prescribed diet, daily lifetime medication and LOTS of love. Cookie’s recent sudden illness came as a complete surprise. It will be difficult to care for two ill dogs but we are up for the challenge as in both cases the prognosis looks good.

ABOUT COOKIE’S TREATMENT

With your generous donations, Cookie will be able to go through radiation treatment that has had excellent success with eliminating the effects of the tumor.

HOW THE DONATIONS WILL BE USED

• Cost of her radiation treatment (1-3 sessions)
• Cost of her CT scan
• Cost of her medication
• Travel expenses to Yonkers, New York where the veterinary hospital is located
