Care for Cows

Cow protection to me is one of the most wonderful phenomena in the human evolution. (Mahatma Gandhi)

I am Andrej from Slovenia and I live on a farm. I love animals and can't stand violence against innocent beings. Therefore, I and my family care for 6 cows and 4 oxen and protected them from slaughter. We are providing food and take care of them. Cows are not just an animals, they are living beings with their own character, self and face. In winter, they are in warm barn, and in summer they are under a hay-rack, from where they go grazing on different pasture every day. When it is raining, there is a wet and muddy area around the hay-rack, where the cows are walking, when they are not grazing. It's difficult for cows to move around in a muddy area and they look unsatisfied. We would like to fix this area 120 square meters with sand, geotextile and Ecoraster. This will allow the cows to move on a clean surface all year round.

To realize this, it is necessary to collect 3000 €.

This is muddy area, where cows standing knee deep in mud.

Let me introduce our cows and oxen:

HAMSI - he radiates love. Although he is physically large, he is in fact one small child, purely innocent and very gentle.

GANGA - is Hamsi's mother. She selflessly giving milk for 14 years.

ARUNI - is very intelligent. When you talk to him, you have the feeling that he understands you - as if you are talking to a man, except that he cannot answer with words, but with eyes. Of all, he is the most patient.

BHIMA - is son of Karuna. He is the head of the herd. It is the most powerful but also kind.

DHARMA – she likes to play with other cows.

KARUNA - is the oldest in the herd, she is humble and calm.

JAY - a mysterious prince.

MANIKASTANI – is a little cow that has the smallest horns of all. She often does not feel to be a part of this herd and goes her own way.

PINGALA - is Aruni's mother.
