Caravans For Calais

As many of you already know the conditions in the camps in Calais are appalling, but through the humanitarian efforts of charities such as Side By Side and Caravans For Calais, efforts are being made to make the life of the most vulnerable who live there better.

A caravan provides a home and a safe and comfortable environment. Also should the camp be demolished any time in the future a caravan can be easily and quickly towed away. The caravans that have already arrived in Calais have provided homes for unaccompanied children, pregnant women and vulnerable families. Through the generosity of people we have been able to raise money to buy a caravan. But we now need to raise money to clean, paint and equip with the essentials needed, such as bedding, cooking equipment and lights. Along with these essentials we also want to provide the things that give normality to fractured lives, such as board games, sketchpads, radios and battery packs for mobile phones.

We are now on a mission to raise enough money to kit the caravan out with all of the above.

So all we ask is for you to reach into your pocket and give a donation no matter how small, every little helps! Then we can get the caravan ready and raring to go!!

Any excess money will be put towards a second caravan because as the number of those in need grows so does the demand.
