Help a father be there for his son

Hello everyone, my name is Zachary. I know that almost none of you will know me, but I am asking for your help.

About a year ago, while on my way to work in the early morning, I accidentally hit and injured a pedestrian with my car. As soon as I realized what had happened, I immediately called the police and they arrived on the scene. I gave the police my statement on what happened, as well as, the two witnesses. Fortunately, the victim survived with minor injuries. Based on the statements given by myself and the witnesses, the officer determined that it was not my fault. I was not cited, and my damaged vehicle was released to me.

Fast forward to May of this year, my life changed dramatically when I was arrested on charges stemming from that accident. I was never informed of the additional investigation as well as the pending charges. They served the warrant for my arrest early in the morning, taking me from out of my bed as a matter of fact. You would have thought I was criminal by the way they came into my home. I spent the weekend in jail and was bonded out the following Monday.

I am requesting help with a retainer for a criminal defense lawyer. I have spoken to several attorneys that have said I can either disprove the state’s claim that I was speeding or plea bargain for a lesser charge. I am an honest man that feels horrible for injuries that I have caused. I have a son that I love and want to continue to be there for. I also have a great career with a company that I love dearly.
