Campaign Story
The Cape Point Brewery will consist of several aspects, the first being a brewpub
that will bring patrons a warm and inviting environment to enjoy small batch crafted
beer in. The Cape Point Brewery brewpub will feature an eclectic array of small
batch crafted beers and simple but great food, the second aspect will be on online
presence marketing and selling limited availability bottled beer in six packs and
cases, in additional he Cape Town Brewery will leverage the local tourism industry,
partnering with local tour operators and holiday accommodation providers
The Cape Point Brewery will be a brewpub incorporated as a limited liability
company. The business location will be in Simon’s Town in the Western Cape,
where it will leverage the demand from the local community as well as the vibrant
tourism market.
The head of The Cape Point Brewery management team will be Founder and brew
master Paul Stevens. Paul has significant experience as an executive in the
corporate world and has a long history of brewing great beers on a small batch
scale. The business will be run as a family business leveraging our combined
experience in retail and small business ownership.
The Cape Point Brewery will serve a wide selection of small batch craft beers
including ales, pilsners, and lagers. The Cape Point Brewery will also feature a
simple menu with burgers and sides during main hours, while serving breakfast and
coffee in the morning.
There is a lot of competition in food industry in the area, however this will not be
Cape Point Brewery’s focus, there is currently limited competition in the drinks
industry in the area as a result of the impact of Covid-19 and the resulting alcohol
ban on the industry. Although there are many restaurants in the Simon’s Town area
There are no other brewpubs, and no bars excepting the local hotel, The Cape Point
Brewery has competitive advantages in the area.
Brewpubs and microbreweries are growing tremendously in popularity, the location
of The Cape Point Brewery should provide a great marketing opportunity, not only
aimed at the local community but also the vibrant tourism industry, there are many
attractions close to The Cape Point Brewery and ample parking at Jubilee Square
across the road. Over the last few years, the brewpub industry experienced a
positive growth rate, with exception to the period from March 2020 – August 2020
when Covid-19 and the subsequent alcohol ban had a significant impact.
The marketing strategy of The Cape Point Brewery is a combination of social media
advertising, mailings, kiosks, and promotion at local events and food markets. The
Cape Point Brewery will partner with local tour operators and accommodation
providers offering package deals and specials. In addition, The Cape Point Brewery
will use advertisements, a frequent dining program, specials, a happy hour, group
events, pub crawls, brewpub tours, and sponsorships to get customers in the door
and keep them coming back. Pricing of Cape Point Brewery products will be based
on competition, cost, and demand.
The Cape Point Brewery is seeking an outlay of R320,000 from investors. This
amount will be used to augment the founder’s investment of R 100,000 so The Cape
Point Brewery can purchase everything the brewpub needs to get started, and to
cover operational costs for the first months of trading.
