A blessed day to everyone. My name is Olwyn, and my Mom Aileen, is a Stage 2B Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) patient.

Just last March, our Mommy Ai felt a lump on her left breast. She immediately went to the hospital where she was advised to get a breast ultrasound and mammogram. We received worrying results confirming BIRADS 4C, which has a 40-95% chance of malignancy. Our doctor ordered a biopsy and the worst case was confirmed - DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma in situ) breast cancer.

We were devastated and in disbelief. Our Mom is active, exercises regularly, and practices everything in moderation. Keeping hope alive and being strong for us, she sought out a second opinion, and then another one until she reached her fifth doctor. Everybody advised the same, “Urgently undergo a mastectomy (removal of breast) to lower the risk of the cancer spreading to other parts of the body”.

Having now completed the mastectomy in the first week of May, Mommy Ai is recovering well and now preparing for treatment. This is going to be the hardest part of her journey where she will need chemotherapy (6 to 8 cycles every 21 days at 80,000 Philippine Pesos or $2155 AUD per session) and radiation treatment (daily for 30 days at 9,000 Philippine Pesos or $243 AUD per day).

Where we live, financial support is limited, and we have now exhausted our insurance, personal and public health options to fund these life saving treatments. At such a critical stage of her recovery and at our greatest time of need, we are humbly asking for your generosity to raise the funds we need for these much-needed treatments to save her life.
