Cancer hit us twice

Dear friends,

Today, me and my childrens find ourselves in a desperate situation. I find it hard asking someone to help us, but I don't know what else to do. We come to ask for your help. We pray we shall overcome this dark period.

There are five years now, since my husband was diagnosed with Stage 3 B - inoperable lung cancer. He started his treatment by chemotherapy sessions - many series with different drugs. To keep such a disease under control, he needs CT-scans at every 6 months (the cost of each is 700 RON/ test; RON – Romanian Lei). Unfortunately,after 4 years of hard struggle he passed away

Four years ago, I was diagnosed with Stage 2B cervical cancer. I went through radiation treatment and then – surgery. For now, the test results show no more signs of cancer but I am not the same person that I was before.

We have three children: our oldest son is 25 years old now, he is independent today, and even - a great support for my father (78 y.o.).
Since I was the only child of my parents, I am supposed to take care of my father, but my eldest son assumed this role.
The other two younger kids (17 and 13 y.o.) are totally dependent upon me on support.

We live all together, sharing an appartment in a block of flats (the monthly costs represent a half of my wage), our children need clothes (they grow, but their old clothes don't), and we simply cannot find enough money to buy food.
The situation is really desperate.

I know it may seem unbelievable that, in this century, an educated and experienced person can not feed her children, but please try to understand that four years we only have the early retairement income and we have to pay expensive tretments for both of us.

Today I am alone to take care for may childrens with a small salary because after 4 years of retirement the only people who wanted to hired me was a small association and my salary is small 1600 romanian lei ( about 300 euro or 400 US dollars)and is impossible for me to pay for every expenses with this money.

My kids tell me every day that the good times will come for us soon, they are good children and we love each other very much.

But it hurts me because I can’t offer them an easy life.

My son’s Andrei 18th birthday is in March and I want to make for him a real party with all his friends, but I don;t afford so I need your help.

Please help me to make a real birthday party for my son!

I have documents to attest everything I have said before, but all the papers are written in Romanian language.
