With the help of friends and family Rebecca was able to get enough money to get the port put in for chemo but even with an 80% discount chemo is going to cost $28,000.00 out of pocket! They are now at a stand still waiting on funding from friends, family and complete strangers to give Rebecca a chance at life. The oncologist they spoke with told them this will only be three weeks of chemo and it is not intended to cure but strictly intended to supress growth and give her a chance to make longer than two months.
Rebecca is the wife of a friend of ours (Manni) with two sweet kiddos, Dominic (1) and Isabella (5), who was diagnosed October 11, 2013 with stage 3 inflammatory breast cancer and was given two months to live, it is already stage 4. They were turned down by numerous agencies that specialize in breast cancer research including Avon and Susan G. Komen as well as other cancer research facilities who have all turned her away because of the advanced stage and several have said, "It will be a waste of funds."
I am at a loss for what to say but am pleading on this family's behalf to help cover the new insurance policy of $500/month that isn't even helping in any cancer treatments because of the new healthcare policies being put in place and the prescriptions totalling over $400 for a 30-day supply.
Given the aggresive nature, lack of treatment options and prognosis I am hoping to raise $5,000.00 to help cover as much of the medical bills already incurred as well as any upcoming funeral expenses.
Any donation is greatly appreciated and will for sure make a difference in her final days with her kids.
**Nick and I will personally deliver all money raised.
