Hi,

I'm Erika Valenzuela, wife of Shojie Valenzuela. My husband Shojie (31) has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer and we are knocking on your generous hearts to provide us with a little help with our fight.

He was initially diagnosed with a brain tumor last July 2018 and underwent brain surgery last August 22, 2018 to remove the affected part. While recovering, the biopsy result revealed that the tumor spread from an origin. After this, we asked for several specialists for different opinions and continued several laboratory tests. After a chest CT Scan, he was diagnosed with Lung Cancer (Stage 4). This news was devastating to us, especially to him (he doesn't even smoke), but he is ready to defeat cancer for the sake of our family, especially our four-year-old son, Sancho.

What's the next step for us?

Given the positive result of his last biomarkers' test, Shojie's treatment would only be oral medicine for 60 days (one tablet daily). The doctor said one tablet costs P5,422.15. In the first two weeks, he'll need a blood chemistry test to confirm that Shojie's body reacts properly to the medicine. If all goes well, he'll continue with the prescription for the rest of the 60 days. Another set of PET Scan and CT Scan will need to be conducted to confirm that his lungs, hip, and brain are getting better and that no new tumors will be found.

In addition to the oral medicine, he also needs to undergo radiation therapy for his brain and right hip bone. The need for maintenance medicine will depend on the results after two months of treatment.

With his oral medicine and needed laboratory tests throughout the two-month treatment, costs are estimated to be around P500,000.00 -- this still excludes possible maintenance medicine expenses.

That's why we created this campaign. We are truly grateful for the moral and financial support from our family and friends. However, the treatments and procedures are too expensive. So we would like to ask any amount from your loving heart to help shoulder the costs.

Sancho is still young, and so is Shojie. I still want him to see our son grow into a fine and strong man as he is. Please help us make this happen, help us believe we can get through this trial with your prayers or donations.

I would like to thank you wholeheartedly even just for your time reading this and may God bless your generous heart.
