Campaign Story
I am so excited to run/bike for a series of 2020 non-profit/charitable causes. I aim to raise money for the Princess Margaret Hospital Cancer Research Centre, Heart & Stroke Foundation, and Canadian Cancer Society. These nonprofits are all committed to improving the access and care for Canadian patients that I was fortunate to experience myself.
I have been involved in running as part of cross country and track & field teams beginning in middle school and extending into graduate school. I was fortunate enough to be active and healthy enough to maintain that level of fitness. I've had numerous setbacks in the past few years, with a major knee injury and a recent serious car accident. Running has taught me so many lessons in resiliency and has led me to where I am now, with a master's degree in physiology, working in medical communications, and now training for my physical rehabilitation!
The problem is that the cost of advancing research and providing patient care is rising and this leaves many Canadians on the sidelines. Hospitals and clinics struggle to afford or sustain the growing costs of healthcare. Alleviating the high cost of equipment helps programs reach more patients, giving those in need the chance to receive the urgent care they require.
Please consider joining me in my efforts to help raise funding for these causes. Thank you so much for your support!
