camPhakama, a newly founded NPO that falls under phakamAfrika (PTY) Ltd. Over the past few months we have been working tirelessly to support girls of colour from our surrounding communities with a fun and meaningful holiday experience. Many of these girls come from lower income homes where going away for holiday is not an option. Our camp is a safe place where they have the opportunity to meet people from all around Cape Town and explore what it is that our “Mother City” has to offer.

This is only made possible though through the generous donations we have received from members of our community and the citizens of South Africa like you. This year though we are specifically seeking donations to fund the purchase of a Quantam minibus, a driver, and fuel to help keep it running. Having our own minibus would help us to ensure the safe pickup and drop off of the girls (some of the girls are as young as 8 years old) as their parents are not capable of dropping them at the camp every day before work. It would also mean that we have our own safe and trustworthy way to go on the many exciting fieldtrips that we have planned! As a fellow parent, I’m sure that you would understand that ensuring the safety of our girls – especially in this day and age has to be of chief priority.

We hope that you will be able to join us in funding the purchase of a minibus. We are specifically seeking donations of R1000+ but we will still highly appreciate your support no matter how much you can afford to give.
