Camino de Santiago Walking about 130KM in 5 days for children in Ethiopia

Helping, caring, sharing….this is what it’s all about. Keith Marshall, the founder of the #SigmaFoundation together with Austin Cachia, made sure that the legacy of the late Dun Gorg Grima kept growing, helping the needy kids, building various schools and a hospital in Ethiopia and Kenya.

The Camino de Santiago, our fund raiser event, consists of Walking approximately 120 km for 5 consecutive days through a network of pilgrim paths that leads to the Cathedral of St. James in Galicia , North west of Spain.

Preparation is key ! Regular and consistent training treks, both mid-week and also on weekends, have now kicked in. Having to wake up at 5am on Sunday mornings to get ready and be on time at the treks departure points, either in Malta or in Gozo is no mean feat for me. For those who know me, I 'd rather be in my comfort zone in my free time, chilling , but this time I'm not. Determined to keep pushing for this cause to get it done both in hot and humid weather and in wet, muddy and rainy conditions. Aching knees, swollen ankles, blisters....are all coming my way in these months ahead, but they will be overcome.
