Walking from Sarria to Santiago (130km) in 5 days to collect money for children in Ethiopia.
WHY WE ARE DOING THIS.
Dun Gorg Grima's had literally given up his life to missionary work running charity programmes in Brazil, Ethiopia, Kenya and Peru. His work and vision was kept alive and enhanced by Keith Marshal and Austin Cachia, through the Sigma Foundation, the aim of which is supporting those in need around the world through fund-raising activities, charity, education, and crucial skills to enable self confidence and personal empowerment. So far they've built 9 schools and a hospital in Ethiopia. It is now time to collect money for a female educational and empowerment centre in Bonga , where the mothers of the children now attending the schools will be trained in IT, culinary skills, hairdressing, sewing and embroidery. This in turn will give the children a better long term future, in an enriched society.
WHAT WE ARE DOING
We are a group of 30 who have been training very regularly since September to prepare ourselves for this journey, starting our trekking before sunrise on weekends, and squeezing two treks during the week after a full day's work, apart from our daily walking regime. This has not been easy - especially for such an unfit person like me - but we are determined to make a difference.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
No need to wake up early, or trek for miles, or suffer blisters, or injure your feet.
SIMPLY DONATE. You will make the difference too.
