The 2015 Cambridge Bantam Coyote team won their first tournament in Buffalo, New York in late May with a 7-0 record. The team went to a tournament in Barrie in mid June against several other Tier 1 teams from Ontario and were undefeated in the weekend tournament earning another gold medal.
Later in June the team was unfortunately rained out in an Ohio tournament but had much better luck with weather in Michigan in early July.
In Michigan we played 8 games going undefeated through 7 against some very tough competition. We came up short against the only other undefeated team (from Ohio) in the championship game that weekend earning ourselves a silver.
Finally, last weekend (July 17-19) we played in our Ontario Tier 1 Provincials. Although the team did not win the provincial championship we did earn the 4th and final qualifying spot for the Canadian Nationals and more importantly earned the opportunity to represent Ontario, and Cambridge at the Bantam Nationals hosted in Calgary on August 5th-9th, 2015.
This team is coached by 3 very experienced coaches that coach the team out of their passion for the sport and love of the game. They do not get paid for their time but give it willingly and enjoy the time spent on the field. To go to Calgary and represent Ontario is very expensive for the families to send the players but now to also find money to send the coaches along as well is very difficult to afford.
If you are interested and able to help us with our fund raising efforts it would be greatly appreciated. We are trying to raise $6,000 in 2 weeks and any donations would be welcome to assist us in getting us to our goal.
