Campaign Story
I am currently a doctoral student studying Clinical Psychology with interests in working with traumatized children. I have the opportunity to attend a school-sponsored trip to Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos in May of 2013 to learn about the child sex trafficking industry. We will be meeting with rescued victims and educating ourselves about the world of sex trafficking.
While sex trafficking is often viewed as a foreign issue, it continues to be a multi-billion dollar industry within the U.S. This trip will provide me with invaluable hands-on experience that will allow me to better advocate for and treat victims of the sex trafficking industry throughout my career.
As a full-time graduate student, my funds are limited but I recognize that this trip will enhance my personal and professional scope for work in this underserved area. My goal is $4,000, which will cover airfare, accommodations, food, and transportation.
This trip is being organized through the NGO Destiny Rescue. For more information on this organization, please visit destinyrescue.org.
Thank you for your support!
