Race To Save Calix!

The statement below is from my cousin Grace Genio who is the mother of Calix:

My son, Calix Dane Manansala, 9 years old, was diagnosed with CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE 5 SECONDARY TO REFLUX NEPHROPATHY when he was just 7 years old. It has been a year and 8 months when he started his peritoneal dialysis. He has a catheter inserted on his stomach for the exchanges of his peritoneal. At a young age he is undergoing regular peritoneal dialysis which is being administered every six hours at home.

Last December 20, 2017, my son was confined at the National Kidney Transplant Institute for the insertion of his peritoneal catheter. Prior to that he was confined from June 6-10, 2017 for severe abdominal pain secondary to kidney failure. Then on September 6-17,2017 he underwent Laparoscopic Nephrectomy, a ureteral re-implantation on his right kidney and his undeveloped left kidney was also removed.

Last June 24-28, 2019, he was hospitalized again because of peritonitis infection. He stayed at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) in Quezon City, Philippines for a week for his medication and treatment. Right now, his daily peritoneal dialysis, oral medications as well as the injection of erythropoietin twice a week for his hemoglobin, are are the ONLY ONES keeping him alive. Hence, we were advised by his pediatric nephrologist that he NEEDS TO UNDERGO A KIDNEY TRANSPLANT before this year (2019) ends primarily because of his peritonitis. KIDNEY TRANSPLANT is his ONLY WAY of living life to its fullest and his doctor estimated that we would need between 800,000 to 1,000,000 Philippine pesos for the kidney transplant procedure.

Sadly, we, his parents, do not have enough money to cover all expenses to be incurred for the said transplant. That is why, we are knocking on your good hearts to help us finance our son's kidney transplant. Any donation will be a big help for his transplant procedure.
