Our only child Zachary Joel Lim was born with congenital glaucoma. He has to live with it his whole life and if damage occurs, it is irreversible. The only telltale signs are that his eyes can get a little bulgy occasionally, and of course, his little glasses.

The good news is his condition was discovered when he was only 8 months old. So far, there hasn’t been any damage.

The concerning news is that he’ll need constant supervision for the rest of his life, to make sure his eye pressure doesn’t go crazy. If it that does happen (and it has), intervention is required. He has undergone 3 goniotomy procedures. If pressure rears its ugly head again, the next surgery will be more intrusive.

That said, surgery is better than blindness. The only way to avoid the unthinkable is through constant checks. And that requires funds. As of now, we're still unable to purchase any medical insurance for Zach due to an eventful pre and post natal report.

To ease the burden, we have volunteered Zach to put his artistic passion to good use. One because he would absolutely love to do it. Two, because we know you’d prefer something personal from him rather than from us.

How it works:

It’s as simple as ABC. Donate to Zach’s eye fund and he will send you a handmade thank you card, for you to stick on your fridge, corkboard or what have you. The amount you wish to give is entirely up to you obviously. No amount is too big or too small.

Private care, public care, none of it has been decided but naturally we only want the best for Zach. The funds will be kept and used over the years because the need will be constant. Every cent donated to this cause will be used only for this cause. All we have is our word.

We have a goal simply because the website requires us to have one. Which is not a bad thing.

Since Zach will be creating every card by hand (and choosing his own colours, randomly in zero order), no two cards will be alike.
