The Buy America Campaign

Did you Know?

The United States imported $2.69 trillion in 2016. That includes $2.2 trillion in goods and $502 billion in services. America is the world's second-largest importer. The European Union imports more, at $2.24 trillion.

So, what does America import?

The largest U.S. import category is capital goods at $590 billion. Businesses import $123 billion in telecommunications and semiconductors. They also import $114 billion in computers and related equipment.

Consumer goods is almost as large, at $584 billion. Most of this is cell phones and TVs ($121 billion). Next is apparel and footwear ($114 billion) and pharmaceutical preparations ($112 billion).

Now if you take a close look at the statistics above, you will agree with me that most if not all of this CAN be produced and manufactured here in the United states. So, why are we importing? Why not produce them here in the United states? It’s simple, US manufacturers are not encouraged to manufacture because the citizens, the users, the consumers, us, are more interested in buying imported goods. Yes! For some reason, we see imported goods as better products. But the latter is not always correct and as much as we don’t know this is seriously affecting our economy and most importantly our future and who are our future? Our kids. Continual buying of imported goods does us no good both on the government (economy) and individual (labor market) level.

So what is the Buy America Campaign?

This is a campaign every passionate patriotic US citizen should be involved with. We all have our preferences and choice of product or services we buy but just one question we want you to ask yourself when buying those is- Is there no Made in US product like this?

Buying made in USA products helps build and maintain a stable, growth-oriented American workforce and economy. It has been proven, the more we invest in products Made in the USA, the greater our domestic growth and the more US jobs we create.

The Buy American Campaign is dedicated to bringing awareness to the American consumer and encouraging them to consider buying products made in America.

So, if you and I buy more USA made products each time we shop, we grow our economy, we increase our workforce by creating jobs because one of the major effect of buying imported products is the fact it creates unemployment.

So what do we plan to do?

With the amount of shoppers buying from different stores in a day, in a week, in a month, that is millions of shoppers spending millions of dollars and most often on imported products. This has to change! And the only way we can do this is creating awareness through campaigns like this.

So, we want this campaign to go as far as possible and the only way we can do this, is getting you involved.

How can you be a part of this?

Anyway you choose to is appreciate. We need team members, monetary donations so we can print t-shirts, flyers, banners, stickers, as well as run social media ads, publish online and printed publications. You can check the right side of this page to see different ways you can donate and also gain at the same time. Please do remember to share this page on your social media pages so others can donate and share as you just did.

Whichever way you decide to be part of this is appreciated. Remember, the goal of this campaign is to create awareness and encourage US citizens to buy Made in USA products so we can sustain and stabilize the US economy and increase the employment rate in a bid to secure the future of our youngsters.
