Buy a Brick…help build a school

Update posted by John Gumbo On Nov 01, 2019

The tower construction is now complete. We have sent the school a total of USD915 for the materials and part of the construction costs which has depleted funds available. We still need USD145 to pay the balance for tower construction and USD140 to build a concrete slab before the tank can be installed on top of the tower.

Thank you to all those who have donated so far. We still have a long way to go so please share the campaign as much as you can.

The water stand construction is proceeding well. Soon water will be available when town water isn't.

Before our fundraiser even formally started we had USD3,300 donated to purchase a 10,000l water tank and to install it at the school. As I write this a platform is being built for the tank. It needs to be 6 meters high to prevent elephants smelling the water and helping themselves at the expense of the tank. The height also helps to get water pressure. The completion will mean that during power load shedding, the kids can still go to school.
