Thanks for visiting my page! Smile I am cycling approx 180 miles from the Butt of Lewis (top of the island) to Barra in three days with a team of around 50 other cyclists to raise money for Macmillan Nurses.

Breakdown of trip is as follows:-

  • Start 8.30am on the 17th June.  First day is cycling from the Butt of Lewis to the Scaladale centre in Harris.
  • Next day is the biggie where we cycle to Leverburgh, ferry to Berneray and on to Benbecula.
  • Third and last day see us cycling to Eriskay, across on the boat to Barra and cycling round most of the island, stopping at Castlebay School where we spend the night.

The majority of monies raised will go to Macmillan Nurses, who are funded almost entirely through voluntary donations (98%). Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer by providing practical, emotional and financial support.

The trip in 2012 raised £28,500. A donation was made to Lewis and Harris Youth Clubs Association for their continued support, to Hebridean Search and Rescue and £26,000 to Macmillan, which was the largest single contribution that Macmillan received in Scotland last year.

I am very grateful for any donations received, no matter how small.  Please support a very worthy cause and make my sore bottom worthwhile!  xx Wink
