Campaign Story
Red de Compasion (RdC) is a non profit business located in Worcester, MA, operated by Elizabeth and Richie Gonzalez, Directors of RdC. RdC offers food, clothing, and spiritual compassion for the homeless and poor in Worcester. The philosophy of this organization is to bring back the dignity of people who have fallen on hard times, to be clothed, fed, and inspired. The very best effort is made to ensure that the clothing is clean, the food is healthy and made from scratch, and the word is a prepared event to feed the soul. Everything offered to the homeless is completely free, no questions are asked.
RdC holds a weekly bible study, at a local church, that is open to the public for free in both English and Spanish. During the bible study, the children of the families attending can participate in a children's bible study. RcD also offers a weekly bible study at a sober Christian transitional home to offer hope and healing to the residents. Our largest weekly event is a Saturday lunch event open in the downtown area on Main Street. In this event, anybody can choose clean clothing and a homecooked meal, prepared by a staff of volunteers. Visitors are able to sit down within a tent set up with table and chairs to enjoy their meal and clothing. During this time, guests enjoy a Christian sermon in English and Spanish. RdC has been consistently delivering these services weekly for over two years based solely on donations and volunteers.
This campaign will enable us to broaden our efforts to deliver food and clothing to the ever increasing number of people in need. We are asking for donations to help us pay for a website in progress, brochures, business cards, computer tablets, and current cell phones to allow us to seek focus on obtaining sponsors and donors.
