Business Startup (wood)

I would like to open up a small business for now in which I can help myself and friends who do not have any income. I'm not asking for a lot I'm just asking for some capital to buy the materials and machines that are needed. I want to open up a store with products made of wood. The people I know are good but lack some equipment to make them perfect and their products worthy to be bought. There is a huge gap in the market where I am from. So this wood be the ideal business to help myself and fellow non-workers to get an income.
