Burst Appendix for Divenette Streicher

Good day,

I have never seen anyone fight like this little girl... she is only 10 and has had 8 operations in only one 5 weeks.

The one day she was feeling sick and her mother took her to the doctor. He said that she only had a bladder infection and gave her pills and antibiotics. The pain got worse and worse... after 6 days her mother Minnette took her to a different doctor for a second opinion. The doctor told Minnette that this is a burst appendix and that she needed to be admitted immediately! Because of the economy and a lot of other reasons Minnette and her Husband Divan could not afford to pay that month's medical aid and so Divenette had to be taken to Steve Biko.

When they arrived this little girl had a temperature of 40 and the only thing the people at Steve Biko said was that they were number 200 on the list... She had to wait her turn...

When they eventually helped her they wanted to admit her they did not have a bed available and she had to sleep in a cot! Eventually they moved her to pediatrics where they did tests and gave her morphine...

She only got worse and worse and her pain levels moved up and into the danger zone. They had to sedate her and they did another operation where they saw that the large and small intestines had holes in them this is caused by a bacteria... they had to remove a part of it and so the small and large intestines have a small part that stands out of her body and they are in bags next to her. Her stomach muscles are no more and pulled to the sides! This causes even more pain...

This little girl has been through so so much! She has a younger brother who is not aloud to go into the hospital and see her.. her mother and father struggle to work because they have to stay with their little girl as they don not know when she will take her last breath! They need to motivate her at all times..

She's very sick and we only hope and pray that she will heal soon.

the reason for the funding is to get her to a private hospital and to an specialist to save her life as soon as possible as the doctors at Steve Biko hospital do not know what to do anymore.

she went in last night at half past nine after waiting 11 and a half hours for a theater as the only opened her up cleaned and closed her up again as her small intestine is critical and she needs the best medical care at this moment.

Please please please Can you assist these wonderful people and just make their life a little easier!
