Bunny Help for surgery

Please help me save my bunny Oreo. He's a 3 years old Holland lop. He started to not eat and drink as normally since July. So I brought him to the vet and the vet said he's fine. So I thought maybe he was just stressed and will be okay in a few days' time.

However, until 24 July he's still not eating and drinking normally. He start to not move around as how he would hop and play around as he would in the past. So, I brought him to the Vet Central on 25 July and the vet did X-rays and blood tests for him and found out that he has very serious dental issues. Both his left side and the right side has decayed and infected tooth at the lower part of the jaw and he requires 2 surgery to remove the infected tooth. He is a very nice and beautiful boy and I really love him so much. I hope he can survive this and spend many more years together with me. I have spent more than $1000 for him just to find out that he has a dental problem and I really need help. My savings were all used up and I am currently still studying with no financial income. He's in a lot of pain now. He needs to do the surgery fast to stop the pain. Even after the surgery, he still needs to go for a check-up and make sure his tooth is fine after the surgery. This will also cost a lot and I really need your help. Oreo deserves a second life. I am a bunny lover and hopes that I am able to see my sunshine boy who always brightens my days.

Some people might be wondering why am I doing this crowdfunding. Why am I not asking my family members to help instead?

I didn't want to say all this but I'm just going to say in short. So my family wasn't supportive of having a pet initially. As I might have some family problems, I decided to have a pet at home so that it can boost positive energy at home. I have friends that used to have very serious family problems and some of them start to get a pet and surprisingly their relationship got better and they start to have a better connection with each other. So that was one of my reasons for having a pet. Of course, being a pet lover, I really want to have my own pet which I can shower all my love for it.

I raised Oreo by myself. My parents did sometimes support me like buying Oreo's food and needs. But mostly it was me who pay everything for him. When he's sick and visits the vet, I paid for the bill. He was sterilized beginning of this year and it cost $300++ and I paid for it. Last 2 years I've been working part-time that's why I am able to pay for Oreo's bills, food, and his needs. However, I stop working because I wanted to focus more on my studies, and yes I finished my savings on Oreo and really have nothing left in my bank account. Looks like I need to start working part-time again to support Oreo's necessities. I don't mind doing that for Oreo. I really don't mind starving myself for a few meals and get Oreo the best food or the treats that he loves. Can you feel how much I love him?

My parents are not paying for his medical bills this time again. So I really hope you guys who are reading this can feel what I feel and really help me and Oreo out. This surgery may be a major one but if Oreo do it, he will survive and I promise he will have a good life with me. To all the pet lovers especially bunny lovers out there, please help Oreo through this tide. Please continue to spread this around.

UPDATE ON 11 September 2021

After waiting for more than a month, Oreo has finally done his first surgery yesterday night 10 September. His surgery was performed by Dr. Cathy Chan at The Animal Doctors(TAD). Oreo has now been hospitalized and may need some time to recover. I really hope Oreo can fully recover and I am able to take good care of him. All this was possible only because of Lynne and Jackie Fang from Bunny Wonderland. They are really kind souls and were willing to help me and Oreo even though they don't know me at all.

The estimation for this surgery will be around $1500 according to the vet. This does not include the cost for hospitalization and his follow-up after discharging and medication. I hope that all the bunny lovers are able to help any amount donated is greatly appreciated and please do help me share this around also.

UPDATE ON OREO ON 21 SEPTEMBER 2021

Thank you to everyone who has donated and help me and Oreo in any way. I am very grateful and thankful that there are so many kind souls that are willing to help even when we don't even know each other. I am grateful to have met many kind people in my life. Although I went through a lot these few years that I almost lost hope in life, I managed to get through it with the help of every one of you. I sincerely thank you guys on behalf of Oreo. Although he is not able to speak up I am sure that he is thankful to every single animal lover who has helped Oreo's surgery succeed.

Enough all those sentimental remarks, now Oreo has been discharged from TAD yesterday 20 September 2021. So the vet has suggested for Oreo to do medical boarding for one week first because Oreo's wound is still quite deep and difficult to clean, they were worried that I am not capable of taking good care of Oreo for now. I have no confidence in that too. I was worried that I might hurt him when I try to clean the wound. Also, I had to do the injection for Oreo every one other day which I have tried before when I brought Oreo to Vet Central in August. I managed to inject for one time and the second time when I tried to inject, I don' know what did I did but Oreo was bleeding a little bit of blood and ran away immediately. I think I just poke his skin and hurt him. So I was really scared and trauma after that and believe that I am really not capable of doing all these for Oreo now. So I will have to bring Oreo every day to TAD to clean his wound and injection. So instead of making him go through all the pain and stress, I have decided to listen to the vet and send Oreo to medical boarding for now. So Oreo is now with Clarris and she is a very experienced bunny owner so I believe Oreo will be okay with her.

So, Clarris told me Oreo's guts' movement is quite slow, he has not started to eat by himself yet. No pellets or hays yet, but he is eating the CC quite well and has nibbled some vegetables today. The wound is still quite deep and lots of pus coming out. So I will update you guys again about Oreo's condition. Once again, thank you everyone!
