Building Beauty on two Wheels

It’s no secret that being an artist in New York is full of financial hardships. I moved to Bushwick, Brooklyn 10 years ago to pursue a career in design. After spending years building sets for photo shoots, video and theater I discovered my passion for creating and custom designing. While my ideas are endless, my funding, unfortunately, is.

Growing up, I was always fascinated by the speedster and chopper motorcycles racing around my hometown, Huntington. After bit of saving, I was finally able to reach my goal of buying my very own motorcycle. My 1995 Triumph Thunderbird, while beautiful, is in deep need of repairs, which I am willing to do by hand. The starter is near the end of its rope, the clutch is sticky and it’s showing signs of rust in some areas. This labor of love has sparked my imagination and I now plan to overhaul the bike and give it a unique Brooklyn identity by turning it into a new wave street fighter inspired bike.

Current Condition

I plan to strip this bad boy, remove its air box, strip the seat and its back suspension. After that, I will replace the tires, redesign the header exhaust and muffler. Once that’s done, all that’s left is to replacethe starter, and apply cosmetic changes.  (Final rendering above as title pic)

This would be my first time doing a complete customization for a motorcycle. I have spoken with several repair experts and consulted with other bike designers to streamline my vision. The only thing that’s standing in the way of my design is a lack funding. This is my newest artistic endeavor and I am so excited to see where it may lead. Sometimes funding the arts starts on a small scale and I would appreciate any support you may able to give me to fulfill my dreams and begin uniquely designed motorcycles for people to enjoy.
