Building a children's Art Studio

Kandang art studio is a small art studio located in Padang city, Indonesia. It was established with the aim of identifying the artistic side of the community's young minds. We have been teaching art to children since their early childhood and continue to do so until they reach the age of adolescence. We provide our children with an atmosphere in which they can openly express the imagination that lies dormant within them and spill it out on paper. However, this art haven of ours needs your assistance in order to continue producing young artists and identifying hidden talents. Assist us and contribute to the future of countless children.

Why do children learn to make art?

It has long been established that art is an excellent tool for training our children.

When our children learn to carry pencils, crayons, chalks, and paintbrushes at a young age, they are practising their fine motor muscles. Children with strong fine motor skills have a better handle on their regulated movements. Aside from developing their motor skills, children strive to improve their thinking skills as well as learn more about various shapes and values, which will benefit them in their later years.

Most importantly, art allows a child to express themselves freely. They are free to draw anything they want to express themselves. It allows them to de-stress and, at times, interact via art. With all of these advantages and benefits, we agree that all children should be encouraged to learn the art from an early age so that they can have a wider range of skills by the time they reach adulthood.

What are we aiming for?

We've always understood that every child possesses a creative side. We, as adults, must recognise their abilities and assist our children in unlocking their potential at the appropriate time. Children can be taught to work on their creative side of the mind, train it, and learn numerous skills that will benefit them in their day-to-day life and possibly build a successful career for them in the future if they are given a proper creative atmosphere and guidance.

Recently, as a result of the Covid - 19 pandemic, imaginative spaces for children have become more constrained. They are unable to attend school and are forced to remain at home, where they are deprived of a stimulating artistic atmosphere in which to learn. A successful art studio will certainly assist in resolving this issue as well.

This is where Kandang Studio comes in. In our art studio, we have worked hard to provide the children of Padang with the artistic atmosphere they need. We have been teaching the children how to draw, paint, carve wood, and do other types of creative work. We've been doing all of this for free by running this art studio as a community service project in Padang. Our art studio currently consists of three parts. The art studio itself, where our children work on various creative projects, a dressing room with another room on the second floor for visitors, and a kitchen with a toilet.

As more families send their children to the art studio in hopes of getting their creative sides unleashed, we have received an enormous amount of response from the group. As a result, we need to expand our facilities so that we can accommodate more eager students. At the same time, we agree that the small art studio that we currently have is not up to par with health standards and that it needs to be fully rehabilitated so that we can continue to accommodate more children and help them recognise their artistic characteristics.

How do you contribute to the development of an optimal creative atmosphere for children?

Our art studio needs to be remodelled and expanded so that it can accommodate more students studying various types of art. We plan to increase the size of the existing space. Along with that, we want to build a gallery to display all of the beautiful artworks produced by our students. Aside from that, we want to improve the standard of the training we have been delivering in the facility and to provide the students with a healthy environment for their overall well-being.

We will need a lot of money to do what we have planned, which we don't have right now. We'd need a lot of money, and we'd appreciate your assistance in achieving this goal. The funds needed for the Art Studio would be used to purchase building materials such as cement, bricks, zinc, wooden boards, and other materials. All of this will necessitate the purchase of higher-quality painting supplies to aid in the training of our children.

As you are aware, our art studio is a social project, and we do not charge our students for training; we depend solely on any assistance you can provide. Your contribution will benefit our studio and assist us in creating the ideal atmosphere for our children. Supporting us will assist us in making these children more imaginative and artistic in every way, which will aid in the development and strengthening of the culture. We want to take action for the community and the future of these children, who have a lot of promise, and we need you to come along with us on this journey by helping us financially in whatever way you can.

You are playing a significant role in shaping our culture by participating in this social project and assisting us in the construction of this art studio. You are offering the children a wonderful gift by having a fun place for them to express their imagination, and they will be eternally grateful to you. We will always respect your contribution to us and make the best use of it so that our children can benefit from our innovative learning opportunities as well as our guidance.
