The small village of Gobindgarh Jejian in Punjab, India, is in urgent need of a new school. In November 2018, I visited the existing school in Gobindgarh Jejian, in Punjab, India, and spent time with more than 120 kids of the village, that are studying there.
The school was in deplorable conditions and wasn't a safe environment for them. They didn't have electricity and basic installations like toilets or a proper kitchen. The playground was full of large trees that were dangerously collapsing. The children had to attend their classes outdoors, not being able to use the classrooms as the ceilings were also full of huge cracks and falling.
The land of the school was below the level of the nearby road. During the raining season, water flooded the whole playground and the only available room for the younger kids.
That day, I decided to build a new school for this village. I engaged with some local volunteers and raised an initial 10000 USD to start building the school. The project includes four new classrooms, toilets, kitchen, activity spaces with a library, and a proper new boundary wall to provide a safe environment for kids to exercise and play.
We started the project immediately, we started the construction, but we need more help to finish it. To build a proper school, we need to raise an additional 20000 USD for the building and 5000 USD for the necessary equipment and materials and would love some help.
Please, help us and donate. Every dollar counts and I will be sure that it's invested in building this new school.
