Building a Home for Children of Malawi

This year, between 23rd of October and 2nd of November, a group of Romanian volunteers from Habitat for Humanity - Romania are going to Malawi to build a home for poor families of Malawi.

Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world. Here, 4 families out of 5 live in improvised shelters without any utilities. Their shelters are rapidly degrading, especially during the raining season. They cover their shelters with roofs made of plastic sheet and reed, that are being destroyed every year by the heavy storms, flooding their 'homes'. There are no toilets and in most of the cases, more families use a single improvised toilet dug in the ground.

Last year, in October 2018, the first volunteers from Habitat for Humanity Romania went to Malawi and built houses in a poor community near Malawi capital - Lilongwe. In these houses live Lebita Kaundama and Sofileti Kayitoni - two widowed mothers and their children. They now have a safe house and the rains do not flood them anymore. But they are not the only mothers and children who needed this, so this year we are doing it again.

For my birthday, as a gift, be the one who makes a difference and donate for a house for the children of Malawi. The needed amount a volunteer needs to raise is 2000 EUR.
