Dressing and rest room for girls days is needed

There is no dressing and rest room for adolescents girls during menstrual period at Mahenje secondary school in Mbozi district, Songwe region (Tanzania). Girls use unhygienic toilets which do not have water, sanitary pads and other hygiene materials. It is a community school with 489 girls from Form I to Form IV.

The money raised from this campaign will construct a self-contained room with two inside toilets at school premises. The room will have space of four beds. In addition, the campaign will help to put four bed sheets, 4 blankets, 8 bed-sheets, 4 pillow, dozen of sanitary pads and other hygiene materials. Finally, money will be used to install water tank with capacity of 2,000 liters to supply water to toilets of the rest rooms.

Having well equipped dressing room for girl will reduce absenteeism because many girls missing classes during menstruation period. Also, will increase learning achievement among girls as they will be treated within school compound and proceed with classes.
