Build a wall to build children’s education

Who:

Rita is an Indonesian woman, former librarian at Bandung international school, who has changed her home into a free library and learning space for Bandung's underprivledged children. I met Rita, an amazingly selfless person utterly dedicated to helping the young people in the area, in late 2014 when I spent 3 months embedded in Polban Polytechnic in Bandung.

What:

Rita has a wooden structure in her garden for outdoor classes however the classroom structure is at risk of collapse as one side is supported by a 2m earth wall which is likely to wash away when heavy rains come. When the wall goes, so does the classroom.

Can you help?

Polban staff and students can assist in building a permanent wall and Janet Russell, counsellor at the Bandung International School can help channel the funds needed, $AUD2000, ensuring efficient transparent use of the funds.

When:

We are hoping for the wall is built before the next heavy rain season so this is a short three week campaign closing on the 3rd of May.

Why:

This is a small, practical program which will see immediate results, improving the lives of many of Bandung's youth. Any donations will go a long way with $50 funding the construction of half a square metre of wall.This is a one off project and not a charity so sadly is not tax-deductible. I am using gogetfunding.com as it is a safe, secure site which has minimal processing fees (4%). Please note that this initiative is close to my heart has been organised by myself and is not affiliated with TAFE NSW. I am personally prepared to underwrite the project costs that are not raised, so this wall with definitely be constructed this year.
