My name is Anthonie Cullen. I live in Port Townsend, Washington. I grew up between Washington state and Southern California, as my father was in the military. I am running a campaign to pay off my student loans.

Lately on the news, I have seen coverage about gofundme campaigns that are aimed at collecting donations to build the wall that Donald Trump has been attempting to place, separating the United States from Mexico.

Here is a link to that particular campaign.

As of today, it's collected close to $17 million.

Another problem that our nation is having, is the overwhelming student loan debt that college students have to pull out in order to get an education. I am no exception to that. In December 2017, I earned my bachelor's degree, majoring in psychology and minoring in business administration. Accruing a debt of $45,000. To do something with this degree, I have had to enroll in graduate school at Adams State University, majoring in mental health counseling. Fortunately, I have scholarships that help with this. However, it is the cheaper of graduate schools. I chose this so I would not develop any more debt.

I decided to run this campaign because there are some that find building a wall separating the United States from Mexico is more important than taking care of other concerns that are within our nation. This wall would have an impact on my family. I am 1/4 Native American and part of my reservation in located in Mexico. This would separate our people and put a wall in the middle of our land.

This campaign is an experiment. If a wall that separates families and shuts down our government can raise close to $17 million, what can a person's student loan debt raise? If successful, I would be able to live a comfortable life and have the financial means to see my family in Mexico regularly (as they fear trying to come to the United States), without spending the rest of my life in debt.

I can give this site a number of sob stories about how tough of a time I had throughout my late teens into my adulthood, but I won't. If this campaign isn't successful, my loans will get paid... eventually. But I am truly curious to see what this will do.

Thank you for your contribution.
