A new workshop
We live in Žagarė, a small city in north of Lithuania. It was a place where I used to spend every summer and my dream was always to live here. But, since it's a small city and there aren't many job opportunities, I always thought that was not possible..
When we got stuck here because
of covid, we opened our doors to everyone, to show that we can do. Many
people were so facinate by the lamp work that they started to ask us if
they can come and bring some friends. Even shools called asking if they
could come to take a look! So at first we said yes to everybody, but
very soon we understood that we need more space...
So two years ago we bought another piece of land with an old house falling apart.. And now we are making a project with a hope that we will be able to rebuild it. We would like to raise funds so we could make a new workshop which has sufficient space to carry out handicraft activities for school pupils and any other groups of people. We would like to teach them how Murano glass is made, show them how professional jewellery is born, make together recycled paper or even teach them how make their own book! The project even includes access and bathroom for the disabled so that everyone can come and learn some new skils!
