Brooke’s Volunteer Trip to Uganda

For the first two weeks of July, I will be traveling to Uganda on a volunteer opportunity through International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ) based out of the city, Mutungo. The program I selected to work in while in Uganda, is the Childcare program. Many children in Uganda live in poverty and have lost one or both of their parents to HIV/AIDS. My goal while in Uganda is to provide support to these children and provide proper care. I have the opportunity to work in day care centers, nursery schools, children's home, and orphanages. I will be helping with educational activities (teaching English, Math, Health/Hygiene, Reading), playing games, doing arts and crafts, and assisting with feeding and daily chores.
