My name is Kim Zanfes and my daughter Brooke needs your help. My daughter has been a Type 1 Diabetic since she was 22 months old and in February 2016 she will turn 15. She is considered a bridle diabetic and has ongoing issues with controlling her sugar levels. Brooke is on an insulin pump at this time. Brooke was recently diagnosed with MCTD ( lupus and RA) and has other issues with her heart and lungs. She has a high a1c of 11.6 due to all of the medication she is on for her MCTD. She also has optical migraines and athletic induced asthma on top of all of her other issues. I am asking for your help to get Brooke the sensors she needs for her insulin pump to help continously monitor her blood sugars. The sensors are not covered by her insurance and three Specialists have suggest that she start using the sensors to help control her diabetes. I don't want to loose my daughter because the insurance won't cover a possible life saving device. The sensor is changed on a regular basis so this is an on going cost for my family.
